We have used
the Pheromones for some time and found that some animals are more responsive
to them than others. It is better not to expect an instant response. They
take a little time to work their way into the thought processes of you
pet and slowly alter the way that they react to things that they have
been wary of in the past.

For dogs they work well for individuals that will not settle at night and
we have had some success with dogs that are restless when they are left
alone in the house. They definitely help when a new dog is introduced to an
established group. They are less helpful for dogs that get very excited and
are hyperactive. We tend to use other drugs as well to control these
animals.
It is difficult to get them to work when animals are terrified of fireworks
unless you can be there and try to distract the individual concerned while
the noises are going on. It can be difficult if the fireworks are let off
close to your house and come at unexpected times.
Kittens and young cats respond well to pheromones and they help when you
have new cats or kittens in the house. You will find that they settle in
faster and timid cats are more confident in unfamiliar situations. They have
been most useful where two or more house cats start fighting or get annoyed
with one another.
The diffuser will stop some cats that are scratching furniture and it does
help to calm individuals who are regularly frightened by other animals when
they go outside.

Urine spraying in the house can be more difficult to control especially for
neutered male cats if there are entire individuals who regularly visit and
try to dominate the ones that live with you. Male cats often seem to spray
in areas where there are lots of cats and individuals are regularly
interacting with two or more strangers. We have known the spray to work well
in some situations, but is more difficult if the behavior has developed over
a long period of time.
