Calming Kittens |
||
If you have time to plan the
introduction of a new arrival it is better to run the diffuser for at least
a week before the kitten or cats arrive. Use it in the room where the cats
will spend most of their time. Make sure it is not shielded by furniture so
that the vapor can work throughout the room. The Pheromone can help you to establish a close relationship with your cat.
They will be more likely to join in a game and timid cats may well eat
better and adapt to new diets more readily. Feliway is also helpful if your cat has started to scratch on furniture in
the house. It may help to move the diffuser close to where this is happening
so that your cat does not feel that he needs to mark his territory in this
way. Cats are less likely to soil in a room if you use the diffuser. It helps to
have a clean litter tray with a hood that is in a quiet part of the house.
Keep this away from the place where your cats are fed. The drug helps if you take your cats away with you to a holiday home or if you move house. Traveling does not come naturally to cats. Most cats are wary of cars then suddenly they find themselves confined in a noisy moving environment that they do not understand. Most cats do not travel very often and when they to it may be to see us for injections or a trip to the cattery so it often helps to spray the box with Feliway so it is associated with a more secure environment. |
